Land Rover is synonymous with luxury, power, and the elite of the elite in today's a utomobile world. But aside from being the reigning champ of the high and mighty, it also likes to give back. Land Rover recently teamed up with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to support World Aids Day, and Land Rover Manhattan is happy to be a part of this affiliation.
The combined efforts of these two entities benefitted more than 7,675 people in South Africa who are either plagued with HIV or are at risk for it by providing them with nutritious food, information, prevention messages, and emotional support when it's needed. Another great outcome was that 271 individuals who are suffering from HIV were provided with the necessary at-home care that their condition requires.
"We are incredibly grateful for Land Rover's commitment to our work in trying to combat HIV and AIDS. This terrible disease leaves children without parents, people too weak to work and communities without hope," explains Mark Astarita, Director of Fundraising at the British Red Cross. "Land Rover gives us the extra ability to reach even more people and change even more lives."1
While so much was accomplished in one day, Land Rover's efforts continue throughout the calendar year. The effort also extends to other countries, such as China, where the two companies provide similar aid.
